The Politecnico di Milano, on the occasion of the Milan Design Week, will be present with a series of events spread throughout the city. The Design System of the Politecnico participates with “INTERDEPENDENCE: exploring opposites”, a set of initiatives to reflect on how design interacts with contrasting polarities and dimensions, through a selection of projects by students of the Politecnico and a network of about 40 design universities from all over the world. The three main locations are the Fabbrica del Vapore, the Campus Bovisa Durando and the Salone Satellite.
Here are the initiatives of the Design System of the Politecnico di Milano
During the week of the Salone, two world-famous architects will be present at the Politecnico for a lecture open to the public:
David Chipperfield in dialogue with Francesco Dal Co April 7th at 5.30pm
Bjarke Ingels in collaboration with Domus 9 April at 5 pm
There will also be exhibitions in the Mostre Guido Nardi space in Via Ampère, 2 with free admission
Carlo De Carli Corollary that brings to the fore the work of De Carli, one of the protagonists of Italian architecture and design in the post-war period.
And Milan Abstract Projections – Exhibition of works by Paolo Ventura, an international Milanese artist and photographer, mixes painting and photography. In “Milano Proiezioni Astratte” the immortalized buildings are reworked with color by the artist to create a metaphysical urban vision.
Sulle terrazze di Via Bonardi 9 si potrà ammirare l’installazione “Growing Matter(s)” con 100 sfere di micelio opera di Henning Larsen e Politecnico di Milano.
Anche l’Off Campus San Siro si attiva durante la settimana del Salone per parlare della trasformazione urbanistica della città negli anni ’70 e ’80 con la presentazione del libro di Alberto Secchi “Milano. Due o tre cose che so di lei. Ciò che ho visto e ciò che vedo” (Planum Publisher, 2024) e l’inaugurazione di una mostra fotografica.
Molte altre iniziative che si svolgeranno durante la settimana della Design Week 2025 vedono coinvolti Professori e Ricercatori del Politecnico di Milano, tra queste:
