Paesaggi dell’Ingegneria. I ponti di Silvano Zorzi

Following a period of closure due to the health emergency, a photographic exhibition dedicated to Silvano Zorzi’s (1921-1994) bridges and viaducts opens at Historical Archives.

The centenary of Silvano Zorzi’s birth is being celebrated in this way. He was an active player in Italy’s post-war reconstruction between the 1950s and 1960s when Italian engineering was in the international spotlight with its highly original infrastructural works – such as the Autostrada del Sole connecting Milan to Naples. Silvano Zorzi’s work is focused on the form’s structural lightness and characterised by its attention to placing the work within the natural and urban landscape, transforming it into something more modern.

The exhibition is based on the exhibits in Silvano Zorzi’s Archival Fund which includes originals and large photographic reproductions and can be visited at the exhibition space of Historical Archives from Monday to Friday (from 9.30 am to 1 pm) until Friday 21 May by appointment by writing to archivio@polimi.it
