Festival dello Sviluppo Sostenibile | The road to zero: escape room matematica

On the occasion of the Sustainable Development Festival, the Effediesse laboratory of the Department of Mathematics of the Politecnico di Milano invites the public to the educational game “The road to zero“, an online escape room consisting of mathematical challenges themed on climate change.

The test is aimed at a wide audience (over 14 years) and will last one hour. The objective of the game will be to find a balance between sinks and sources of carbon dioxide. The various challenges will have logical-mathematical components, with a level of mathematical skills assumed equal to that of a student in the first year of high school.
For students, the game will therefore be a way to apply the notions learned at school in a very current context, while for older adults it will be a way to test their memories and, perhaps, (re-)fall in love with mathematics.
