Italian Culture, Processes and Ecosystems for Knowledge Valorisation

The European Commission has launched an awareness campaign on knowledge valorization, with the aim of promoting policies and tools that help transform research and innovation results into tangible benefits for society and the economy.

As part of this campaign, the Commission is organizing a series of events called “Tour of Capitals” in various European countries. These are national meetings, co-designed with Member States, aimed at directly involving local research and innovation ecosystem actors. Each stop is an opportunity to share experiences, best practices, and delve into the tools provided by the Commission to best valorize the knowledge produced.

The Italian “Tour of Capitals” will be held on June 6 at Politecnico di Milano.

During the event, there will be discussions on European guiding principles and codes of good practice for knowledge valorization, with the aim of encouraging their concrete adoption by universities, research institutions, companies, start-ups, students, public administrations, and other innovation actors.

The day will open with an institutional discussion between representatives of the European Parliament, the Commission, and the Ministry of University and Research, and will continue with two round tables dedicated to the challenges and opportunities related to knowledge valorization: from research-business collaboration to intellectual asset management, to new European tools to strengthen the impact of research on the territory. A dialogue with the protagonists of the Italian innovation ecosystem will finally offer the opportunity to gather proposals and visions in view of the next European Framework Program.
