Jesús Donaire is an architect, curator and professor of architecture. His studio is dedicated to develop projects of architecture as well as ephemeral and curatorial design. The lecture will briefly introduce the work developed at the studio and will focus in four house projects. It will be an opportunity to review the values of the Mediterranean house, mainly built during the last century in Italy and Spain.

Jesús Donaire is a Ph.D. Architect by the School of Architecture of Madrid Polytechnic University from 2016 and Architect by the same University from 2000. Thanks to a Fulbright scholarship, he was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Advanced Architectural Design by Columbia University in New York, with an Honour Award for Excellence in design and a William Kinne Fellows Prize. In 2014 he receives the UPM Consejo Social grant and he was awarded with the 2015 Rome Prize in Architecture by the Spanish Royal Academy in Rome. He is Associate Professor of Architecture at ETSAM since 2009, and Visiting Professor at Politecnico di Milano since 2016. He has also taught at Nebrija University, Boston Suffolk University and The Barnard + Columbia College of Architecture. He has been a visiting critic and lecturer at various universities and cultural institutions around Europe, the United States and Canada and he is member of the Doctoral College of Politecnico di Bari.
Jesús Donaire runs his own office of architecture based in Madrid. He also works as exhibition curator. Since 2012 he is Secretary of the BigMat International Architecture Award and since 2014 Editor in Chief of the Blog BMIAA of architectural culture. He collaborated, for almost a decade, with renowned architects Jesús Aparicio and Alberto Campo Baeza in Madrid and David Chipperfield in London. He has been awarded with several international prizes, such as the International Interior Design Association Prize, IIDA in Chicago, the COAM Award in Madrid and the Jury and Popular Awards in the first edition of the Architizer A+Awards in New York and he has been selected in the Arquia, Enor and Cerámica de Arquitectura Awards.
T magazine has recently selected Jesús Donaire as one of the 30 most influential office of Architecture in Spain.
