Event Details

Covering a span of 28 year of practice, the lecture will present several built works of different scales and uses, resulting from the interaction with places, materials, environment and people. The architect will talk about ideas and reasons behind each design, focusing on people: before  and during the design process, during construction phases and post-occupancy uses.
Dr. António Carvalho is a Visiting Professor at Politecnico di Milano, coming from the Architecture School of Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Viseu, Portugal. António is a practicing architect running his own architecture studio in Lisbon for the past 28 years, resulting in a wide variety of buildings. Antonio has taught Design Studio and lectured mainly in Europe. His main research field is elder-friendly environments (urban space and housing).
