Event Details
The exhibition MODà architecture, photography, graphics, design, sustainability, aims to describe, also to non-specialist visitors, cultures and aspects of fashion that can be found in the Archival Fonds and Library Collections of the Politecnico di Milano, or that are connected to it through the personal and design history of the authors involved. The five themes are thus found throughout the exhibition panels and tables, dedicated to the figures of Gianfranco Ferré and Renzo Piano; but also Marina Spadafora, promoter of ethical and sustainable fashion; Andrea Pfister, fashion designer; and Elsa Haertter, fashion photographer.
Fashion emerges as a transversal language. Through archive materials, designs, images and original objects, the visitor is invited to discover how it is not just clothing or an accessory, but cultural vision, design research and social identity. A reflection on the power that fashion has to narrate the world, change perspectives and create relationships between disciplines.
The exhibition MODĂ architecture, photography, graphics, design, sustainability will be open until September 15, 2025 at the Historical Archives of the Politecnico di Milano, Bovisa Candiani Campus, with the following hours:
- Exhibition Hall: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM â 8:00 PM
- Originals Room: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM â 1:00 PM

A perceptual transformation through artificial intelligence, that brings to light the disparities related to gender in the work environment. The clear reflection of oneself and the surroundings gradually gives way to increasing opacity, as invisible barriers that divide us begin to materialize, altering our perception of the context. The experience unfolds in two complementary moments: a multimedia triptych that encourages collective reflection on gender discrimination, and an interactive installation that challenges our most ingrained beliefs. Every detail is carefully crafted to stimulate critical thinking, creativity, and personal awareness. Artificial intelligence is neither a dogma nor a threat, but a tool that should be adopted mindfully to support change.

Within the framework of the 24th Esposizione Internazionale Triennale di Milano âInequalitiesâ, the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) and CRAFT, Politecnico di Milano, present a collective reading and narration of inequalities from a territorial perspective, through a contribution structured around three thematic investigations. The different impacts of extreme climatic events and prolonged exposure to harmful health conditions, the varying opportunities for access to resources and limitations on mobility, and the lack of full citizenship rights due to processes of exclusion from housing and services are the three themes addressed by the DAStU working group at two different scales and using two different types of materials. On one hand, an immersive installation featuring three short films with testimonies from international experts takes stock of environmental issues, mobility/migration, and access to housing and services on a global scale. On the other hand, a model of the Milan area, accompanied by projections of maps and data, shows how these same issues manifest in this metropolitan context.

There is an invisible world that pulses every day within the laboratories of the Politecnico di Milano. Spaces of ingenuity, experimentation, and meticulous gestures, where students, researchers, technicians, and professors transform ideas into action, form, and solutions.
The exhibition LABORATORI POLITECNICI â departments | territory | education | technology, curated by Roberto Dulio with photographs by Giovanni HĂ€nninen, was created to tell the story of this living, technical universe through the evocative power of the gaze. The photographs do not merely capture instruments and technologies, but also what usually escapes notice: the details, the spaces built for thinking, experimenting, and testing.
Spaces dense with life, experience, and knowledge, where science engages with the challenges of the present and opens up to infinite worlds and possibilities. Because a laboratory is not just a physical placeâit goes beyond any intellectual boundary, forming an ecosystem where research intertwines with education, innovation with society, thought with technique.
Laboratories are not only containers of education and research: they preserve the memory of over 160 years of innovation. They have been crossed by historical figures such as Giulio Natta and Gio Ponti, and at the same time they are projected into the future. They are places that testify to daily work, the construction of knowledge, and the constant drive toward the new.
The diversity of disciplines corresponds to a variety of spacesâeach one an expression of the specific identities of the Departments and Territorial Campuses, and of the deep connection between the Politecnico di Milano and its urban, national, and international context. In these environments, time itself can be read: from traditional Milanese cement tiles to modern resin floors, to the vaulted ceilings of underground rooms, where the stability of the ground supports complex experiments.
This exhibition is an invitation to discover what happens behind the scenes of innovation. To be surprised by the beauty and details of research. To perceive, in each image, the collective passion that shapes the knowledge that grows, is passed on, and constantly transforms.
