The correct management of solid waste is a fundamental pillar of the circular economy, the strategy on which the European Union has aimed with particularly ambitious objectives. Far from being a question linked only to technological aspects, it is a set of actions that starts from the active role of citizens in daily consumption choices and in the correct differentiation of materials. But also the recycling and recovery technologies, in continuous evolution, make it possible to attribute an important role to the waste management system in the material value chain and, consequently, in the mitigation of climate change.
