Event Details

As part of the long-standing collaboration between the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), numerous research activities are being carried out, ranging from planetary exploration to additive manufacturing, from smart materials to Earth observation. This synergy has led to the establishment of an Implementing Agreement aimed at promoting technological innovation in the space sector, with a strongly multidisciplinary approach focused on technology transfer and industrial development.

To share the results achieved so far and foster new collaborations, an event will be held on October 15, 2025, at the ASI headquarters in Rome, with the possibility of remote participation. It will be an opportunity to present to the national scientific and industrial community the progress made halfway through the Agreement and to collectively reflect on the future of Italian space research.

The initiative aims not only to showcase the milestones reached but also to inspire the development of new ideas and shared visions for future space missions. By presenting the activities carried out, the event seeks to encourage cross-disciplinary exchange and stimulate collaboration between academia, industry, and institutions.

The activities of the Agreement involve various departments of the Politecnico di Milano, including Aerospace Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Mathematics, all engaged in the development of cutting-edge technologies. The main research areas include innovative technologies for space payloads, advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and mathematical simulation and modeling methods.

The event will therefore be a moment of exchange and sharing, designed to highlight the expertise developed, promote the training of highly qualified personnel, identify new research lines, and strengthen the link between research and industry. The ultimate goal is to build a national network of excellence capable of leading the development of future aerospace technologies.
