In the framework of the European Robotics Week the Politecnico di Milano opens the Robotics Labs to the public.
The initiative, which takes place annually across Europe, aims to raise awareness among the general public of the importance of robotics in numerous sectors and to promote interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) disciplines, especially among young people.
The Politecnico di Milano has been at the forefront of robotics research since 1973, with projects conducted in several Departments, including the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB). Expertise is concentrated here in areas such as autonomous and mobile robotics, industrial and medical robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, artificial vision, sensory perception, agricultural robotics and human-robot interaction.
Since 2019, all these skills have come together in the Leonardo Robotics Labs, a large space at DEIB dedicated to multidisciplinary research.
On Saturday 23 November 2024, from 2.00 pm, in Building 7 of the Politecnico di Milano, the Leonardo Robotics Labs will open its doors to the public, offering a guided tour that will illustrate the projects currently underway.
At the event, the self-driving cars created in the context of the AIDA project will also be shown: the first experiment in the world of autonomous vehicles on public roads tested in a large number of scenarios and contexts, already protagonists of the 1000 Miglia 2023 and 2024.
