Polimifest – “Living in a Material World – Omaggio a George Harrison”

The title of this concert reopens the famous and magnificent documentary by Martin
Scorsese dedicated to the life and music of the most enigmatic of the 4 Beatles and
of the album that the “Quiet Beatle” had published in 1973. The comparison
with these immortal works, however, stops here, not only for his duty
of modesty by the writer, but for the very content of the initiative that
intends to propose a credible and, as complete as possible, portrait in music of the
famous author of “My Sweet Lord” and many other famous songs.

We believe that George Harrison is perhaps a little forgotten by the general public,
also because of its disappearance dated in 2001. Our desire is to recreate the delicate and affectionate atmosphere that had pervaded the tribute that his unforgettable friends of a lifetime – from Eric Clapton to Billy Preston, from Paul McCartney to Ravi Shankar , from Tom Petty to Ringo Starr –  had tributed him in 2002, a year after his death, on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall in London.
