Event Details

Giovanni Iacometti, architect, was a pupil of Aldo Rossi, Antonio Monestiroli and Giorgio Grassi, with whom he graduated at Politecnico di Milano in 1972. In 1976 he founded in Mantua, with other colleagues, the COPRAT studio. In 1982, at the Venice Architecture Biennale, he won the “Leone di pietra” with the COPRAT studio with a project for the Accademia Bridge in Venice. As a contract professor he taught Architectural Composition at Politecnico di Milano and at the Faculty of Architecture in Parma.

The lesson for MANTOVARCHITETTURA presents some settlements in the Mantua and Reggio area – Sabbioneta and other experiments of an ideal city – considered as a manifesto of an idea of metaphysical landscape of architecture which was represented by cinema and photography, after being theorized by painting.

With an introduction by Martina Landsberger, Professor of Architectural and Urban Design at Mantova Campus of Politecnico di Milano.

The lecture will be held in Italian.

To participate in person, you must send the request email to reservations-mantovarchitecture@polimi.it within 5 days from the date of the event.
