MANTOVARCHITETTURA 2021 – Map studio: Francesco Magnani e Traudy Pelzel

MAP studio was founded in Venice by architects Francesco Magnani and Traudy Pelzel. The studio carries out public and private commissions, combining professional activity and research. Its most recent works include an office building in an industrial redevelopment project in Bologna called Annex Building and the restoration of Carlo Scarpa’s Casa Balboni in Venice, which will be the subject of a dedicated monograph in 2021. A redevelopment of the former Greenhouses complex in Parco Querini in Vicenza is currently nearing completion.

For MANTOVARCHITETTURA MAP studio presents the recently completed Annex Building in Bologna and the renovation of the former greenhouses in Parco Querini in Vicenza, currently in progress: an opportunity to reflect on the different scales of intervention to which an architectural project must respond in order to define and pursue the most appropriate strategies. These occasions are peculiar for their intrinsic characteristics but at the same time similar for the necessary attention to the definition of the constructive logic underlying the achievement of a given objective.
