Health and Well-being in Higher Education – the Impact of the Pandemic

IAU – EI – PoliMi Joint Online Seminar

Politecnico di Milano, together with the International Association of Universities and Education International invite you to an engaging and interactive seminar to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the work and study conditions of university staff and students during the pandemic and how this has affected their health and well-being with the participation of Prof. Licia Sbattella, Rector’s Delegate for Psychological Diseases.

The sudden shift to remote teaching and learning, research, and administration has transformed the way in which staff and students work. For some, it resulted in an increased workload, disorientation and social isolation leading to stress and anxiety; for others it has paved the way to new working modalities and opportunities.

This seminar will bring together university leaders, staff, students, and mental health experts to discuss how well-being in the higher education sector globally has been affected by the pandemic, what steps are being taken to accompany the shift in working conditions. and what can be done at universities to promote healthier work and learning environments. A plenary session will introduce the seminar followed by breakout sessions of small groups to encourage effective collaboration and exchange. This seminar will thus convene participants from around the world to share their experiences and inform about best practices and initiatives in their institutions.
