WORKSHOP SUMMARY
The Workshop “MAKING CARE. Architecture, engineering and well-being”, promoted by the Politecnico di Milano, is a moment of reflection on the role of the polytechnic culture in promoting well-being, in its broadest sense, through the proactive role of architecture and the physical environment, as a driver of social, environmental, technological and design innovation, accelerated today by the new frontiers of Artificial Intelligence.
Starting from the definition of the state of health (WHO, 1948), the Conference investigates the relationship between the built environment and well-being – PHYSICAL, MENTAL, SOCIAL and environmental – comparing the experiences of scientific research, coming from the multidisciplinary approaches developed at the Politecnico di Milano and applied to the construction sector, in a dialogue with scholars external and internal to the University, such as planners – engineers, architects, designers – sociologists, anthropologists, philosophers.
The Workshop, which opens with an illustration of the Exhibition “MATTER MAKE SENSE” curated by Ingrid Paoletti and Stefano Capolongo (DABC-POLIMI), set up at the Corderie dell’Arsenale, features an alternation of master lectures, interviews and talks, in order to guarantee a dynamic narrative.
