After being forgotten in a highway café during a bus trip, a housewife decides to hitchhike home, but on a whim, she ends up in Venice instead. In Venice she soon finds herself enjoying her new life and new friends, and she rediscovers interests, spaces, relationships that seemed forgotten.

The film received all the major awards from David of Donatello’s 2000 edition, winning the best film, best director, best screenplay and four acting categories (actors and actresses, protagonists and not).
