Novel approach for sludge characterization: rheological testing

Sludge produced at different treatment stages in water/wastewater treatment plants differs according to their origins and the differences in the design and the operation of the plants. Sludge management has received increased attention for a variety of reasons, covering the inability to directly discharge or recycle waste streams, and the need for high solid content for purposes of treatment residuals transport, landfilling, disposal, and agricultural usage worldwide. Sludge management is intended to produce mechanically high quality processed sludge in water/wastewater treatment facilities for economic and environmental reasons. In this seminar Prof. Dr. Azuze Ayol (Dokuz Eylul University) will cover new rheological analysis techniques, rheometers and sensors and their practical applications.
