Event Details

The selection of archive materials and images aims to tell the theme of testimony, expressed through the architectural, graphic and documentary projects that the protagonists of these dramatic events have created. Starting from the memorial and museum projects created by the BBPR – the Monument to the Fallen in the Nazi extermination camps at the Monumental Cemetery in Milan – and curated with Lica and Albe Steiner – the Museum-monument to the political and racial deportees of Carpi – and from the images strengths that these contain, the route shows how the need to bear witness to experiences is expressed through the design and composition of places and objects of memory. The same happens in the tables and illustrations of Saul Steinberg: his story, together with the experiences of Vito Latis and other polytechnic students and teachers, is told by the documentation preserved in the University Historical Archives.
