Festival dell’Ingegneria – SAS-Lab- Vieni a scoprire come naviga un drone

The Safe Automation Systems Laboratory (SAS-Lab) carries out methodological and experimental research in the area of control systems that must operate with high autonomy, in presence of constraints that are safety-critical for the system itself and its environment. Examples include autonomous aerial, ground, and marine vehicles, energy-harvesting drones, and real-time resource allocation systems.

We are participating at this Engineering-Festival and will present our latest prototypes. Come by to learn how a drone flies and navigates and try flying a drone yourself in our simulation! Our research is focused on the development of autonomous systems with safety guarantees. The results are validated on prototypes for building inspection and – in the future – airborne wind energy. The availability of prototypes and test facilities enables engineers at SAS-Lab to guarantee the effectiveness of novel algorithms in real-life settings.
