Softening the Habitats. Sustainable Innovation in Minimal Mass Structures and Lightweight Architectures

CALL FOR EXHIBITING – IN.TENSION

The call for exhibiting for the TensiNet 2019 Symposium is now open and we gladly invite you to participate.

In line with the general theme of the 6th TensiNet Symposium “Softening the Habitats. Sustainable Innovation in Minimal Mass Structures and Lightweight Architectures”, the exhibition is entitled IN.TENSION and it will bring the attention to the ongoing change in the field of tensile architecture.

There are two exhibiting modes, one for posters and one for prototypes.

The IN.TENSION poster exhibition weighs in the future of lightweight structures in the context of rising environmental concerns, with the intention of making advancements in the field well-known and widespread in the building construction practice. The poster exhibition aims at presenting cutting-edge projects, techniques and materials that have recently been implemented in the field of tensile architecture and have the potential of changing the construction and the lifespan of membrane structures for a more sustainable built environment. In a way, these projects still remain an intention, not yet disseminated and not yet common, but focusing on the future.

The IN.TENSION prototype exhibition gives the opportunity more experimental projects to be shown, in contrast with the built projects in the poster exhibition. A collection of mock-ups will highlight the latest research advances in the field of tensile construction systems and materials.

Participate now to the call for exhibiting by submitting a poster in A2 format. For the call for posters, include at least one render/photo of your project, one significant detail drawing and a short text. For the call for prototypes, include at least one 3D view of your mock-up, one plan view and a short text.
