The ORC technology origins from the pioneering scientific works of Prof. Gianfranco Angelino started in the early ,70s at Politecnico di Milano: the conference organizers are hence proud to welcome the conveners with a warm “Welcome back home”. Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) are an efficient and reliable option for the generation of electricity in the small to medium power range (from few kWe up to tens of MWe).They are especially suitable for the exploitation of renewable energy sources like solar radiation, geothermal heat, biomass thermal conversion and more generally, exploitation of low temperature heat (www.kcorc.org)

The members of the ORC2017 Organizing Committee will implement the successful conference format that in previous editions gathered in a friendly environment industrial and academic delegates operating in the field of ORC technology from all over the world. This year for the very first time, the conference opens to contributes in the field of power production by means of supercritical CO2 cycles, a energy conversion system that shares several features with the ORC one.

Income of the ORC congress will be assigned to fund university scholarship in ORC research topics.
