Politecnico di Milano at the Architecture Biennale 2025

At the 19th. International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, the Politecnico di Milano is supporting the following projects that explore the challenges of contemporary architecture in an interdisciplinary way:

• Material Bank – Matters Make Sense, presented by participants Ingrid Maria Paoletti and Stefano Capolongo, in collaboration with Margherita Palli and Nobel laureate Konstantin Novoselov: proposes an interactive exhibit inspired by a labyrinth and library to explore the intelligence of perception and materials.
• Milan Urban Mine, developed by DAStU students and faculty, presents a spatial model for the reuse of building components in a circular perspective.
• Resourceful Intelligence, a collaboration with Park and Accurat, shows strategies for urban reuse of material resources.
• Instabilities – The shifting Alpine landscapes, reflects on the human impact on the Alpine landscape, transforming it into a geographical and critical narrative.
• REwind REwild, by Centro CRAFT, is presented within the TerraeAquae Italian Pavilion, investigates the intelligence of Mediterranean coastal territories through 18 video-researches on rewilding and resilience.
• Archive & the City, in collaboration with the DensityDesign Lab, explores the narrative potential of the Venice Biennale’s Historical Archives through data visualization.
• Design as an Astronaut, to be presented by Valentina Sumini, Cody Paige and Tommy Nilsson, proposes a habitable lunar module in virtual reality, with developed with support from ESA and MIT Media Lab.
• ReLea Core, within VAMO, Agar Firenzuola, Romina Santi, Marco Arioli, Barbara Del Curto, and MariaPia Pedeferriun, have developed a circular material obtained from leather and collagen scraps, designed for fashion and interior design. Made with low-impact processes, it reintegrates waste into the production cycle.
