That of being able to generate hydroelectric power from the upper Toce and Devero basins was the ambition of Ettore Conti, who hoped to obtain one hundred thousand horsepower from the planned power plants.

500 images to tell the story of the legacy of those years, which is not only technical, not only the articulated set of plants, dams, canals, and power stations, but is an intimate trace on the territory of mind-blowing hydroelectric architecture; a result not by chance, but the result of a precise will of Ettore Conti, who commissioned the brilliant architect Piero Portaluppi to design his power plants.
